Year Group Pages

Shaw Ridge School is structured so that we work in teams. Key stage one and the Foundation Stage function as a team in itself whilst key stage two consists of two teams. We have three parallel Y 5/6 classes (units 1a, 1b and 2a), three parallel Y3/4 classes (units 2b, 6, and 3a), two Y1/2 classes (units 5a and 5b) , a Y1/ Reception class (unit 3b) and a pure Reception class (unit 4).
The children are taught in accordance with the National Curriculum continuing to spend the majority of their time on the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Education, and Information and Communication Technology. This is supplemented by the foundation subjects of History, Geography, Art, P.E., Design Technology, Personal Social & Health Education and Music.
The under Fives follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum;
. Communication, Language and Literacy
. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
. Creative Development
. Mathematical Development
. Physical Development
. Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
During the week children are taught individually, in small groups and as a whole class.
